Reckless driver causes head-on crash in Ohio

It is often the case that when a person drives negligently or recklessly and their actions cause a vehicle crash, they are part of the resulting collision. A recent accident in Ohio demonstrates how the actions of an uncontrolled driver put the lives of others in danger, despite the fact that the reckless driver’s vehicle emerged from a crash unscathed.

The accident occurred in the early morning when one of the two victims of the crash was approaching a hill in her car. As she drove up the hill her vehicle was passed by a pick-up truck. The driver of the pick-up truck elected to attempt the pass despite the double solid line on the road and the fact that visibility was limited by the presence of the road’s incline.

As the truck made the pass the second victim was driving their car in the opposite direction on the same road. Upon seeing the pick-up truck in their lane the second victim slowed down and apparently swerved to the right to avoid a collision. It was during this maneuver that the second victim and the first victim collided head-on and the driver of the truck drove off without stopping.

Investigators later located the pick-up truck and arrested the driver whose actions caused the dangerous car crash. The two victims of the incident were taken to trauma centers in the area of the accident. As they work to recovery, they may contemplate their legal rights with regard to collecting their damages. They may both have claims against the reckless truck driver who forced them to maneuver and experience an accident that may have been out of both of their control.
