Ohio car accidents: family injured by speeding car

Ohio motorists do not plan to be in vehicle collisions. When car accidents occur, many unplanned expenses, car repairs and therapy for injuries can result in financial and emotional stress. Some accidents are the result of the action of presumed negligent drivers, and financial compensation can be requested from them in a legal manner, but it is a complex process. One family was recently involved in an accident, and they may be finding the aftermath that follows difficult to manage.

The family of five was traveling through an intersection when their pickup truck was struck by a speeding vehicle. The speeding vehicle was driven by a 31-year-old man with a female as his passenger. The speeding man was apparently fleeing from police when he crashed into the family’s truck, resulting in the truck flipping over.

The parents and the children in the pickup truck were injured, and they were transferred to a medical center for treatment. The speeding car’s occupants were both seriously injured and had to be life-flighted to area hospitals. Although their injuries are serious, they are expected to survive. After the accident, items used for drug abuse were discovered in the speeding man’s car, and he had four active arrest warrants for other offenses.

It is understandable for victims of car accidents to be overwhelmed by the emotional stress and financial difficulties that can arise after such an accident. This is especially true if the at-fault motorist did not have car insurance, which may the case with the speeding driver in this incident. Fortunately, there is a way to file against a person’s own insurance to recover some lost finances related to an accident. Personal injury attorneys in Ohio can explain how a victim can file against his or her own insurance.
